You may have recently received a flyer regarding the public event being run for the proposed Solar Farm at Glenniston Farm. The event is on Thursday 17th August 2023 from 3pm until 7pm at Auchtertool Village Hall. For everyone to have the chance to ask questions and hear the answers, the Community Council's Solar Farm Sub Group are suggesting that all who are interested meet in the hall at 5.30pm.
This project is still in the consultation period and a planning request has not yet been submitted by Locogen.
The flyer states that Locogen are working in conjunction with Fife Council but the Community Council's Solar Farm Sub Group have confirmed with Fife Council that this is not the case and Locogen have been asked to amend their website. The clarification is available here.
There are a number of surveys that have been completed by Locogen and their findings should be available at this public event. These should include information about the potential impact on traffic, land and ecology of the site and surrounding areas.
Auchtertool Community Council met with Locogen and Renewco recently and raised some concerns. Community benefits were discussed and we await confirmation of what is available.
This is a very large scale project that could affect the community for 40 years. Please come along and have your say.
Below is a copy of the flyer circulated to the local community by Locogen.
